The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has released the first results from Census 2021 in England and Wales.

They have published five datasets containing population and household estimates for England and for Wales, rounded to the nearest 100, at local authority, region and country level.

This data is now available on the Wokingham Borough Observatory on the Population and Demographics area report. The datasets can also be found through the Data Explorer.

The 2021 Census data shows that Wokingham’s total population stands at 177,500, which is up 2% compared to the mid-year population estimates of 2020, or up 15% compared to the 2011 Census data. By age group, the largest uplift in Wokingham is within the 20 to 39 year-old population.
